Nepheline NK200mesh

Nepheline, the most common feldspathoid mineral, an aluminosilicate of sodium and potassium [(Na,K)AlSiO4]. It is sometimes used as a substitute for feldspars in the manufacture of glass and ceramics.
Whiteness is better than those of ordinary nepheline,improving the quality of the glaze and the surface gloss of the ceramic products.
Like feldspar, Nepheline Syenite is used as a flux in porcelains, vitreous and semi-vitreous clay bodies, and in glazes. Nepheline syenite contributes high alumina without associated free silica in its raw form. This makes it an excellent tile filler and melter.
Nepheline also has a unique effect on reducing the firing temperature of vitreous and the transparency of the ceramic body during firing period.

Product Description

Role in ceramic glaze:

1.Thickening effect

Because nepheline itself has crystalline quality, it can increase the viscosity and rheology of ceramic glaze, make the glaze more easily coated on the ceramic surface, and improve the adhesion of the glaze layer.

2. Anti-precipitation effect

Nepheline can effectively prevent the precipitation of solid particles in the ceramic glaze, maintain the uniformity and stability of the glaze, thus improving the quality of the glaze and the surface gloss of the ceramic products.

3. Whitening effect

Nepheline has a white or off-white color, which can effectively improve the whiteness and light transmission of ceramic products, making ceramic products look more beautiful.

4. Adjust glaze rheology

In ceramic glazes, due to the different proportions and characteristics of various components, the rheological properties of glazes will also be different. Nepheline can adjust the rheology of the glaze, so that the glaze has better pressing and fluidity, so that it is not easy to produce cracks and bubbles and other defects.
