Talc for Coating

Coating grade special talc is designed and produced for special use or purpose, and its particle size varies from very coarse, large particle size with very low oil absorption to very high oil absorption "ultra-fine" grade. There are also surface treatment on the market, oil absorption is very low, talc fineness value of only 6μm ~ 7μm talc varieties, this kind of variety is suitable for optical magnetic grade. The properties of talc also vary according to requirements. The dry powder of talc has high brightness and good hue in water and oil system. Talc is easy to wet and disperse in all liquid coatings, such as organic solvents, varnishes, alkyd and water-based systems; Only moderate stirring is required during dispersion. Talc powder in the coating has excellent suspension, can also help other pigments in the system to maintain suspension state. The coarse size of the talc powder is suitable for some require rough coating or "toothed" coating, such as interior wall paint, primer and crepe paint. Medium size varieties of talc powder fineness value of about 4μm, suitable for house paint, can also be used as a general filler. Ultra-fine talc with fineness of 5μm ~ 7μm is suitable for controlling gloss, consistency and flow properties of semi-gloss coatings.
