Because the composition of Wollastonite is stable, the casting billet is free from defects and its surface is smooth, and because CaO and SiO2 in wollastonite exist in the combined state, the ratio is in the range of alkalinity required for continuous casting, which can reduce the type of base material for slag blending and simplify the process, because the content of Al2O3 in Wollastonite is very low, the performance of absorbing Al2O3 can be enhanced. The quality requirements of Wollastonite concentrate for metallurgical protecting slag are: Wollastonite is more than or equal to 50% , calcite is less than or equal to 50% , quartz is less than or equal to 5% , S is less than or equal to 0.01% , P is less than or equal to 0.01%.
